In 1996 Nicholas Sparks’ romantic novel “The Pocket book” grew to become a bestseller. Eight years later it was tailored to a basic film starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. And the love story that was “a tune, a dream, a whisper,” is now a Broadway musical. Correspondent David Pogue talks with Sparks and with members of the artistic crew that turned his ebook right into a present that’s already inflicting appreciable viewers pleasure and weeping.
